AERON ABSTRACT LABORATORY
in conversation with Eszter Aron and Leïla Guinnefollau
Roberta: When did you realize that the mix of art and fashion could enhance your collection?
Eszter: Art has always been part of our inspiration. We came up with the idea naturally, after having seen Leila's work and while exploring her universe. We really wanted to create something with the same taste, looking at our collection through Leila's eyes. And we started from very small details that were catching us like the small flowers on the table. From there on, we actually realize that there's so much behind this collection.
Roberta: So we can say the partnership was crucial for the realization of the product itself, the event came after, correct?
Eszter: Yes, we first collaborated on the collection and the overall laboratory project. We feel like we could have covered more than one season, it's a lot of work and we will keep it up. With the presentation at Copenhagen Fashion Week we come to our public finally, sharing what we have done so far, especially with Leila.
Roberta: What are the next steps for Aeron Abstract Laboratory?
Eszter: We really want to take the project back to our country, Budapest has a very big art fair and it could fit this kind of situations perfectly. The most important thing is continuing to share, connecting with people, also with different media and experiences.
Roberta: Is it the first time that you collaborate with a fashion brand?
Leïla: No it's not, I have been connecting to fashion quite a few times and it's part of my inspiration, too. My sculptures embrace different worlds: scenography, jewelry, interior design and more. I have never seen myself in that typical definition of an artist.
Roberta: I am pleased to note that the type of woman presented by Aeron also reflects your aesthetics, I imagine it was a nice mutual discovery.
Leïla: Surely we have in common the idea of a strong and independent woman. And I adore the collection and the brand, I think that on an aesthetic level we fully matched.
Roberta: What are the messages you would like to convey with this collaboration, event and collection?
Leïla: We would like to open up a new path, showing different way of collaboration, share another view of ourselves with other people and inviting them to think out of the box.
Eszter: Yes, we have finally created the contrast we wanted between the sophistication of our garments and our desire to network. Perhaps the experience of an event bridges the distance that a catwalk usually creates.
Leïla: I would like to add there is a sense of play in the overall project, something that really invites you to get involved and not take yourself too seriously.
FORZA COLLECTIVE
a few questions to Kristoffer Kongshaug
Roberta: Obviously being Italian I have to tell you that the project has a beautiful name, it really expresses the strength of the collective. Where does the idea come from?
Kristoffer: We've started bringing people together, we obviously have a CEO, a graphic designer, an in-house photographer and so on. By joining forces, the name of the collective also came naturally.
Roberta: How did you select your ambassadors? What do they represent for you?
Kristoffer: We have chosen people who could embody our kind of femininity, but who are also very different from each other. Surely they are important voices on social media and we have chosen them above all for their professional career. We have a fashion designer, a galerist, etc.
Roberta: What message do you want to give with your collection and communication?
Kristoffer: Our production is based on the green and long cycle of the garments. Among our main objectives is to communicate the need of a seasonless fashion, which can last over time, maintaining the luxury that characterizes it.
Roberta: What other projects or brand inspires you, if any?
Kristoffer: I am very inspired by people. I was in New York for a while, but once back in Copenhagen I really breathed this glam air, I looked carefully at how women dress and I decided to stop here.
