NYNNE has to be for all women.
The garments we make have to be wearable but also inspire. I have always admired women who are fighting for what they want and I always look to classic suiting and power dressing as a starting point. For me, it's about taking strong looks and lightening them. Subsequently encouraging more women to harness their feminine power without dressing like a man.

[Stefania Gagliano, Tales Team]: Where do you find your inspiration?
[Nynne Kunde, NYNNE Creative Director and Designer]: This is a creative project that wants to bring joy to women. The whole collection is made for them. The idea is to allow all types of women to dress effortlessly, but in a contemporary way.
[SG]: What's your favorite creation of this collection?
[NK]: I’d say my favourite piece of the collection would be the knitwear dress! This time we experimented with different textures and materials to create diverse layers.
[SG]: How was the creative process during this pandemic and lockdown?
[NK]: It was different and hard during this pandemic. The brand’s main concern was not to overproduce so we narrowed down our creations to two racks.
[SG]: How can we go against the current short-term trend? And how can we change the fashion world, since it’s one the most polluting industries?
[NK]: As a small brand, NYNNE is trying hard on this issue. Now it’s important to educate consumers about choosing consciously. The general goal is to make them understand that buying new pieces is like making an investment. That’s why NYNNE makes pieces for everyone and their daily occasions; only 1 to 3 of them are trendy.
[SG]: What do you think will be the future of fashion?
[NK]: It’s fundamental to promote better quality items, durable once. Moreover the new generation wants to know everything about what they buy! Industries must be more transparent towards their buyers.
[SG]: How and why did you get the idea of overturning the traditional idea of runway models and chose these specific women for your collection?
[NK]: Choosing to avoid the traditional models' look, we decide for “normal women'', so that the viewers could say “She looks like me!”. People see themselves in this kind of new ideals.
[SG]: I really like the idea of aiming to dress a woman in a powerful but feminine way, without dressing them like a man.
[NK]: Women want to be recognized for their skills, what they’re good at in general; not just because they’re women.
[SG]: Being a small business helps with your ideals?
[NK]: Right now in NYNNE we’re happy with the situation! We want to create a community to help other women. We’re happy and, yes, we want to grow, but in a slower way. Right now it’s important to live and appreciate the moment.
